Welcome to week 2 of Thankful Thursday.
It’s so easy to take family for granted and I try to make a concerted effort not to. I know several people who have lost parents or are estranged from siblings. Even though my family, like all families, is far from perfect, they’re mine and I’m forever grateful.
On Monday, I went down an Ancestry.com rabbit hole and was able to finally link to an American Revolution Patriot, John Wolfcale of the 8th Virginia Regiment, who I always knew was there. What I did not know was that there are at least two others, a father and son, who both fought for American Independence. Family isn’t always just the people you can see. Every family has a story and if you don’t know yours, I encourage you to learn it through asking older family members or even doing a little Ancestry research yourself.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know that I’ve been posting a lot about November being the month that we as Catholics remember our beloved dead. No matter what faith you are, I encourage you to do the same. We may have family that we communicate with every day, but that’s not the extent of it. We have way more family members who have gone before us than we do living, breathing here on earth. Remember them.
Once again, get ready for a photo overload. As I was uploading these, I noticed my dad wasn’t in a lot of them. I should know that, thankfully, my parents are still happily married even if photo evidence suggests otherwise :). Have a great Thursday, friends!
Great to seeing you looking lo happy and energetic.
Aw, thank you, Barbara!!
