Happy 2023, friends! I have a very good feeling about the year to come and thought I’d share some changes that I’m making. I do posts like this most years, mainly for the accountability factor.
I always write hefty lists of resolutions and I’m usually able to keep them. Here’s what’s on the docket for 2023.
Reduce dairy.
I started working with an amazing naturopath and she suggested that I try to reduce dairy as much as possible. My mom told me that I was lactose intolerant when I was a baby and my naturopath said that it’s unlikely that it totally went away; it probably just manifests in other ways.
Anyway, so far this year, I basically don’t consume dairy M-F and only have a little bit on the weekends. I feel a million times better and can’t believe what a difference it makes!
At least one friend “date” per week.
I’m already anticipating a busy start to the year in my business so it’s even more important for me to be intentional with getting together with people on a regular basis, even if that means scheduling things far in advance.
No social media in bed.
None. Nada. It took me a few days to get used to this, but I’m LOVING this new habit (or the bad habit that i’ve kicked). I’m not as “into” social as I used to be but scrolling is still a major temptation. When it’s at a time that I’m not lying in bed, I’m less inclined to spend a ton of time on it.
One cup of coffee per day.
Back to the naturopath, this is another thing she suggested. Coffee can mess up hormones and can also cause other problems related to mold, etc. Since the year started, i begin my day with a green tea and then have a Nespresso. I realized I that coffee was a temptation because I enjoy drinking something warm on winter mornings, not so much that I love coffee.
Go back to OTF.
Yep, after an almost three-year hiatus, I’m back to OrangeTheory. Because of my crazy schedule and the fact that I still love my Peloton, I only bought an 8 class/month plan, but it’s a nice change of pace from cycling and I realized how much I missed it.
2 Blog Posts Per Week.
Yep. Stay tuned. I’m going to try.
3 (Business) Social Media Posts Per Week.
This is a major challenge for me but I know I have to do it. I might be outsourcing–we shall see!
I hope 2023 is off to a good start for you!
