Here’s a blog archive from a Sip N’ See I threw for a baby who’s now in kindergarten. Time flies!!
So, I made a resolution that I feel the need to share. I am overcommitted, and need to cut back in areas of my life. I have made it my personal goal to blog two times a week. If I happen to blog more than that, great. But, for now my goal is to write only twice a week… And I will not beat myself up for cutting back :).
In other news, I threw a Sip N’ See for a good friend of mine last weekend. What is a Sip N’ See, you ask? After a mama has a baby, her girlfriends come together to see the baby and sip tea (or in our case, apple cider… Non-spiked… It was a Sunday afternoon)
I wanted to incorporate a fall theme, but also wanted to make it verryyyy gender specific, since Liz didn’t find out the gender of the baby ahead of time (and I would be lying if I said that didn’t drive me certifiably insane). So I decided to do pink pumpkins–Liz’s Little Pumpkin. Sooo I pretty much started from scratch, and this is what I came up with.
To drink: Apple cider.. Boring, yes… So I added apple slices and caramels to rim the glasses. It added to the cute factor.
What party is complete without cupcakes? I made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting, as well as pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting… And the “cupcake stand,” which I use to hang jewelry on on a day-to-day basis, was found at Home Goods…. Ask me how much I love that place… Oh, and I made the cupcake toppers on my computer :). Fun fact, there aren’t any pink pumpkin graphics out there… So I made one. It turned out OK, wouldn’t you say?
The main course table. I served apple chicken BBQ, coleslaw and potato salad (which a guest offered to bring, bless her).
And, since I was particularly feeling motivated the night before, I made these sparkle pumpkins.. Seriously, every special occasion deserves a little glitter.
Party favors: Mini pumpkin loaves with a cute picture of the guest of honor that said, “Thank you for welcoming Liz’s Little Pumpkin.”
It was a good time had by all, even the guest of honor, who spent a good amount of the time sleeping.
Welcome to our world, little Clara! We love you!
