I’m heading to Houston tonight for a quick trip to see Miss Lindsay, a dear friend from college.. A lot has changed since this post..
Anyway, Houston has become my home away from home, and I’m looking forward to another good time, that will definitely be more low key than previous trips…
OK, so as I mentioned before, I did something unique and different during my trip to Houston. Since I had been there oh-so many times, the touristy things were not necessary for this trip.
I went junking.
And I am officially obsessed.
You know the saying “One man’s trash is another’s treasure?” Well, I have never found it to be more true.
One place I do draw the line, however, is with clothing. I just can’t wear used clothes, no matter what designer label it contains. It just grosses me out for the same reason I rarely borrow clothes… But maybe that’s just me.
We went to a flea market in Pearland, TX where I bought a gorgeous peacock brooch… And I just remembered that I don’t have a picture of it… I will share later… We also went to a bunch of antique shops in Houston… They were near St. Anne’s… But I’m not sure what the cross streets were. Anyway, the antique shops were awesomeeee, but waaay out of my price range.
What I learned from this experience: Haggle and carry $5 and $1 dollar bills. It’s oh-so worth it.
I’ve been researching flea markets in Virginia ever since I got back. I think I’m addicted…
