TGI freakin’ F!!!
I’ve never done one of these posts before, but I really like reading them on other blogs.. Here I share my favorite things from this week. This week has been a doozy, but there have been plenty of silver linings to this cloudy and rainy week.. I’m trying to focus on that. Limping to the finish line over here!!
How to Raise an Adult:. I’ve only recently started reading this, but I have a feeling I’m going to FLY through it (I’m about 1/4 the way through, and I started it on Wednesday). As an educator, I have spent many an hour with my palm to my forehead, wondering about the future of America because of how hyper-vigilant students’ parents are. This book, however, sheds a positive light on “helicopter parents,” validating the fact that they’re well-intentioned. However, it does beg several important questions that MUST be talked about. As a millennial myself, I see how so many of my generation’s parents also fell prey to this mentality.
Cooked. I’ve watched this docu-series before, and I still love it. Michael Pollan really brings to our attention the fact that we have lost touch with where our food has come from. It’s really a great watch! If you’ve never seen it, I highly recommend.
My iRobot Roomba. You’re going to be hearing about this baby a lot. I’m more than slightly obsessed.. It’s amazing how I can walk around my condo in socks without them getting dirty! I had it running while I took Cannoli on a walk recently, and it was so nice to come back to a vacuumed condo. I’m pretty sure Cannoli thinks it’s his new sibling…
Outside walks. This winter has been so mild, that there have been few days in which I haven’t been able to go outside. Where I live is absolutely gorgeous. I love that I can see these gorgeous rapids any day of the week…
My two recent guest posts: I had the opportunity to post on both Stephanie Malcom’s blog, and The Budget Girl. I loved the ideas these ladies pitched at me for post ideas! It was so fun!
BitMoji’s MLB attire. My avatar is wearing Indians gear, just like real me. GO TRIBE!!!
