I hate dieting. When I think of dieting, I think of the SlimFast craze of the 1990s which, by the way, still makes me want to gag. I think deprivation, counting the days until it’s over and not thriving.

So, I don’t diet. With the exception of the semi-anorexia I had to do in order to fit in to the bridesmaid dress for my sister’s wedding (long story), I’ve never dieted. Sure, I’ve watched what I’ve ate, but I’ve never dieted.

Enter Arbonne 30 Days to Healthy Living. Almost exactly a year ago, I started “Arbonne 30,” which is somewhat similar Whole 30 in that it’s a detox of sorts, and I felt AMAZING. Never had I slept better and felt all-around incredible.

However, no matter what anyone says about Arbonne 30, I personally don’t think the lifestyle is sustainable. Plenty of people do it, but for me it just doesn’t work. Is it fantastic for a detox and a jump start? Yes. There isn’t anything better out there in my humble opinion.

Enter FASTer Way to Fat Loss. Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I have STALKED the heck out of the (literally) dozens of people I’ve known who have done FASTer Way for well over a year before jumping on board. It’s not that I was intimidated by the program per se, it was.. well, mainly that I didn’t want to pay $200. But I did back in November and am so glad I did!

Here I’ll talk about both and perhaps one might strike your fancy. I’ll also note that I’ll need to talk you through ordering your Arbonne 30 kit, so please email me at stellabritt@gmail.com if you’d like to try it!

What do you eat on FASTer Way and Arbonne 30?

On both, you typically eliminate dairy and gluten. However, because I had done Arbonne 30 first, I knew I do not have a gluten intolerance. (Dairy intolerance is still TBD and honestly, I think I’m just in denial and actually do have one. I try to stick to low-lactose cheeses, which helps.) SO, when I did FASTer Way, I knew I did not have to eliminate dairy and gluten the first time around like they recommend.

In addition to dairy and gluten, Arbonne 30 requires you to eliminate corn, soy, coffee, peanuts, fruits (except for green apples and berries), alcohol, starchy vegetables, white rice and a partridge in a pear tree… I’m sure I’m missing things, but you get the gist. What’s nice about Arbonne 30 versus FASTer Way, though, is that part of signing up includes several shakes and supplements, which are game-changers.

In FASTer Way, you “carb cycle” by eating a low carb diet two back-to-back days per week and track your “macros,” by logging everything in to an app.

In Arbonne 30, it’s basically a big free-for-all of things that you actually can eat. Not having to track is nice.

What would a sample day look like on FASTer Way and Arbonne 30?

Arbonne 30 takes the guess work out because they provide a lot of the food for you.

Breakfast: Arbonne Plant-Based Protein, coconut milk, Fiber Boost, frozen mixed berries and frozen spinach blended. I’d also have a “tizzy,” which is a Detox tea with a Fizz Stick, which is everythingggg. So good.

Lunch: salad with grilled chicken, nitrate-free bacon, hard boiled egg, diced onion, and Primal Foods ranch dressing. OR just an Arbonne Plant-Based Protein shake.

Dinner: Brown rice, grilled steak, guacamole, Primal Foods Chipotle Mayo, grilled peppers and onions.

FASTer Way actually would probably look pretty similar to Arbonne 30 (plus intermittent fasting) on regular macro days, except I’d honestly probably be incorporating some gluten in to the mix. And yes, I still very much do the Arbonne Protein even on FASTer Way because it’s insanely delicious and I look forward to it on the reg. Yum.

Low carb days, however, are a totally different story. Here’s what a low carb day would look like on FASTer Way. Since I’m writing this on a low carb day, I’m just going to share what I had to eat today.

Breakfast: None, other than a big ol’ cup of black coffee. Part of FASTer Way is intermittent fasting, so I personally don’t eat until around 1 PM. Black coffee is OK when you’re fasting, as is tea (no milk or sugar!), water, and seltzer.

Lunch: Time to break the fast! We went to Chipotle and I had a salad with grilled chicken, queso, sour cream, hot salsa, guacamole and cheese.

Snacks: keto peanut butter fat bombs (delicious), string cheese

Dinner: Trader Joe’s Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry with 4 oz grilled chicken and two fried eggs

Do you have to work out on Arbonne 30 and FASTer Way?

Have to? No, but it’s encouraged with both. Arbonne 30 doesn’t have a whole lot of structure with working out other than saying to do it, but FASTer Way does have a lot of structure. In FASTer Way, you actually get access to some online workout videos which, if I’m being honest, I haven’t taken advantage of. On both Arbonne 30 and FASTer Way, I’ve been doing OrangeTheory Fitness (OTF). FASTer Way is really big on intentional exercise, so I’ve actually cut back and am so glad I have. I was over-doing OTF for a while there and not giving my body a chance to rest. I used to go six days per week and now I’m down to four. Technically, I’m going more than is recommended, but depression and anxiety run in my family so working out is more to ward that off than anything.

What does the coaching look like with Arbonne 30 and FASTer Way?

Of all of the things I’ve talked about, I would say this is probably the most similar. In both, you’re part of a Facebook group and are given an individual coach. For me, I pretty much just ask for the gist on day one, start off running and ask questions to the coach as needed. There are videos, meal plans and trainings available if that’s your thing. As I mentioned before, FASTer Way gives you access to workouts too, which is nice.

What’s the cost of both?

Arbonne 30 is roughly $250 but it includes all your shakes and supplements, as well as coaching and accountability. FASTer Way is $199 and includes coaching and accountability. Your coach will be as hands-on or as hands-off as you need her to be. You’ll learn a ton in either program, so there’s really no downside! Of course, I am a budget blogger of sorts, so I will say that no program is worth putting yourself in debt over. Only spend the money if you can afford it and if you know you’re ready to make the commitment.

So, be honest, which do you like better?

HONESTLY, I don’t have a favorite because they really serve such different purposes. I think Arbonne 30 is fantastic if you want to jump start, detox and feel amazing. I think FASTer Way is great if you’re looking for something more long-term. Both will give you energy and make you healthy.

  1. On faster way … can you use the arbonne protein shakes (I agree they are delicious) ?? Or does the program recommend that you not?

  2. I love my Arbonne products, shakes, detox tea but have now start IF for the first time. Does detox tea break the fast?

  3. I have done the Arbonne 30 a few years ago to detox and reset. I planned to start it again this month. Recently, a friend asked me to join her on her next FWTFL cycle. Iā€™m very intrigued in the plan and have been successful counting macros before. How difficult is it to incorporate both the Arbonne 30 days with a cycle of FWTFL? Did you find specific days that were harder than others to integrate the two? FWTFL has changed their macro schedule some, but any advice you have would be great!

    1. Hmm, that’s a good question. I think it can be done! FWTFL does have you cut out dairy during your first round but it does make getting your macros on low carb days a bit tricky. Good luck.
