Humor me here. I didn’t believe it either. This past summer my mom and I went to check out some of the wineries in Northeast Ohio.. and guess what? They were pretty delicious!
Laurentia Winery is (check out their website-gorgeous!) located only a short drive from the (unfortunately run-down) Geneva-On-The-Lake, OH in Madison. Unlike the wineries in Virginia that I’m accustomed to, Laurentia is clearly meant to be a 4-season winery. The porch offers gorgeous views, there’s plenty of outdoor seating, but there’s also an amazing lodge with a huge fireplace, which I’m betting is nothing short of delightful on a cold winter day.
Another great feature of Laurentia is that they have an actual kitchen! It’s not just cheese plates and tapenades (even though I looooove that kind of stuff). They have actual, cooked food! Added bonus? The food comes from local farms and businesses!
My mom and I had a great afternoon there this summer, and I look forward to going back, perhaps when I’m home for Christmas. I can think of no better way to spend a winter afternoon than sipping rose or a nice, robust red near that gorgeous fireplace!
Happy new week, friends!!
