Have I mentioned I love Christmas? One thing I don’t love about it, however, is how so many people break the bank with presents and decorating. While I certainly understand the temptation, there is indeed a way to do decor on the cheap from shopping at the Dollar Tree. I’ll note that this post is not sponsored, so I’ll be brutally honest as to what is worth buying and what isn’t.
Doesn’t my Christmas tree look lovely? I bet you’d never guess I got those red ornaments, cranberry sprigs and ribbon all for around $10. I got two tubes of ornaments (which are actually really good quality!) and four spools of ribbon. Granted, my tree is small so if you have a normal-sized tree, you’d need more than what I got. While the cranberry sprigs look fabulous, they’re styrofoam and fall apart easily, so handle with care and keep it out of the reach of any Italian Greyhound mutts you might find in your house… Ahem..
Here’s the tree picture again. Taaa daaaaa!!
I also had enough ribbon left over to add to my wreath, which I bought from Trader Joe’s for $7.
I also am the self-nominated Mrs. Claus in my office, so I also took it upon myself to make stockings for all my colleagues. Yes, we have a mantel/fireplace in our office. Be jealous. Each of these stockings were $1 and I used Tacky Glue and silver glitter that I had.
Dollar Tree is also great for anyone who is the least but creative. Loooook….
Are some of these things slightly tacky? Maybe. But, a small transformation can take these puppies and make them gorgeous creations like these…. #humblebrag
I don’t necessarily recommend the wrapping paper from Dollar Tree. The spools are very short. So, I got the double-sided gold wrapping paper from Costco and the ribbon, jingle bells, and fake garland from Dollar Tree to top my presents. Use a hot glue gun and you’re good to go!
Promise me you won’t break the bank decorating your place this year, K? There are plenty of gorgeous things at Dollar Tree to save you a ton of money.
Do you have any major decorating on the cheap tips? I would love to know them! Comment below!
Happy Thursday, friends!
