Do you ever get to an epiphany and wonder where a certain thing has been all your life? For example, I have known about Oreos and cookie dough for the past 25 years, but only in the past few months have fellow bloggers taught me to combine the two.. And I wonder, where have they been my whole life?
I had a similar sentiment when a friend introduced me to Mad Fox Brewery in Falls Church, VA. I’d driven past it more times than I could count, and since it’s tucked in an industrial plaza, didn’t think much of it. Their brews are awesome, but dare I say, their food is even better… They boast a scratch kitchen (everything is made to order, nothing frozen or pre-made… amazing). I’ve even become a bit of a student of beer pairing, and I have found that the “Frickles” (fried pickles) and Kolsch make an excellent couple. The Grilled Chicken Panini is anything but generic, as it’s name suggests. I am not exaggerating when I say that it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had… And the service is incredible. Being a restaurant brat myself, I know good service is a reflection on a strong management who knows the importance of training, as well as high morale for employees.
Mad Fox Brewery. Trust me when I say, it’s the place to be.
