Despite having a mild dairy intolerance, there are few things in the world I enjoy more than cheese.
Long before charcuterie boards became all the rage, Cheese Haven was THE place to go for the perfect afternoon boat snack. Now that charcuterie boards are all the rage, it’s still the place to go for all things snacky and drinky.
Cheese Haven is a family-owned store located a short drive from Lake Erie. They’ve been in business for over 40 years and many of their cheeses are made in house. Any time I’m up at the lake for a short visit, I make it a point to stock up on Cheese Haven goodies to bring back!
My Favorites
You absolutely cannot miss a trip to Cheese Haven without the smoked cheeses. I recently discovered their (amazing) smoked green onion cheese. The smoked cheddar is the ultimate winner, though. It’s SO good.
I also really appreciate Cheese Haven’s selection of sausages, many of which are made in house.
Don’t Miss
Cheese Haven has an impressive old-fashioned candy section and it’s always fun to peruse. I also adore their fudge! I also appreciate their alcohol selection, particularly their seltzers. They have a brand called Mamitas that I discovered last summer and I’m officially hooked.
Final Thoughts
Perhaps you find it strange that I’m talking about a cheese place on my blog.
Then you clearly don’t understand.
Check it out and you will.
