Top 5 Christmas Movies on Netflix

(In my humble opinion).  I found that it’s kind of impossible to find Christmas movies on Netflix (whyyy is it not a genre?!), so lists like this are invaluable.  Since I take way too much on during Christmas time, I often turn on a flick as background noise, so I have been many Christmas movies on Netflix and these are my favorites.  Enjoy! 1)White Christmas.  I mean, let’s be real…

This Week’s Christmas To Do List

What?  That’s not the MOST intriguing title you’ve ever seen? Bear with me, friends. I am not from D.C., so the pups and I are packing up the VW Sleigh and heading to Ohio for Christmas at the end of this week and I have SO MUCH to do.  Granted, it’s completely self-inflicted, but I like to make sure I live Christmas time up so I’m ready to transition in…

PoppySeed Paper

Is anyone else hating the new WordPress format?   For as much as I’d love to blame the new format on my lack of posting, that would be a lie.  James IV and I spontaneously went to Miami last weekend, and I write my posts on the weekends, and, well, that’s why I didn’t post this week.  Sawry. Today I wanted to introduce you to one of my favorite Etsy…

Side Hustle Spotlight: Uber

For today’s post, I interviewed a very interesting gentleman, who drives with Uber in addition to his very important day job. This really got me thinking about Uber driver- partners I’ve rode with before… What is their story? Even though I am not always the chattiest when I am riding with Uber, this kind of got me thinking that maybe I should be! Enjoy! What is your day job? I’m…

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!  I’m spending the morning with my main squeeze and having a big, fancy breakfast.  I made cinnamon rolls from scratch, and will make some other main course goodies.  This evening, I’m off to a huge Thanksgiving dinner with some of the dearest friends. As always, I like to take some time on this year’s blessings.  I’m in a very different situation than I thought I would be…

5 Tips for Lowering Your Bills

Today’s brilliant post is from my guest blogger,  Lexi Carr.   You’ll see really quickly that she’s a great writer with some awesome tips that I fully intend on implementing myself!  Enjoy!     I don’t know about you, but the end of summer crept up on me this year. With the onset of fall, my mind is on autumn leaves, pumpkin-flavored everything, nights by the fire, chunky sweaters, and the…

Exploring Ohio Wineries- Laurentia

Humor me here.  I didn’t believe it either.  This past summer my mom and I went to check out some of the wineries in Northeast Ohio..  and guess what?  They were pretty delicious! Laurentia Winery is (check out their website-gorgeous!) located only a short drive from the (unfortunately run-down) Geneva-On-The-Lake, OH in Madison.  Unlike the wineries in Virginia that I’m accustomed to, Laurentia is clearly meant to be a 4-season…

Top 5 Things to do in San Diego

Y’all.  I have had the BEST summer, but oh my gosh, am I exhausted!  Work sent me ALL over the country for conferences and meetings, that it feels so good to be home for the next month. Even though there was a ton of travel this summer, I did relish in the opportunity to finally travel for pleasure when Jim was able to get a week off.  We went to…

What I Learned From My (grand)Mama

Five years ago, the matriarch of our family, my (grand)Mama (pronounced “Mumma”) and my favorite person ever left this world for the next.  She was, and continues to be, everything to me, and I still miss her immensely.  I wrote an extensive reflection on her death HERE, but I don’t want to focus on that today. To honor her memory, I have compiled a list of things I have learned…

2017 Travels

It’s a little bit insane realizing how much I move around this country.  One of the blessings/curses of having going to the college I went to is that I have friends ALL over the place.  Also, since my parents have become snowbirds, I visit them in Florida a LOT.. I have been known to book a flight on a Thursday evening and fly out on Friday after work.  It’s pretty…
