Blog archive… Enjoy!
During my trip to New York for an ordination, I was thrilled to go with some friends to Coney Island. Unlike Cedar Point, which I know and love very much, it has maintained its old style. The rides are visibly outdated, the ticket stands are still old and worn down. I absolutely loved it.
Although not reputated as being the best area in all of Brooklyn, I fell in love. The smells of cotton candy and fried Oreos fills the air, the sound of laughing permeates the entire park, and the gentle breeze coming from the ocean leaves no mystery as to why developers chose this location as a resort way back in the 1830s.
As my night at Coney Island came to a conclusion, I stepped off the Cyclone roller coaster wondering who has sat where I was before? In its 84 years of existence, it’s certainly seen more than I ever have… Nostalgic of me? Yes. But I am not ashamed.
This is Andy and Meg. Check out Meg’s blog, and peer pressure her to update it. I love her stuff!!!
This is Kree, my fabulous hostess for the weekend.
In the background is “Fawtha,” the fabulous pastor at the church I stayed at.. Yes, that is how they say “Father” in Brooklyn
