What I’m Craving: Ted’s Bulletin

There comes a point in every woman’s life where she realizes that she has not yet fully lived. I, of course, am not speaking about some dramatic spiritual encounter..  Because I’m never this deep when I talk about spirituality.  That’s probably not a good thing…   I’m talking about one of the best ways to consume highly caloric food items in the Metro DC area.  My life is now more…

How to be a Voracious Reader

If we’ve ever had a voice-on-voice conversation, odds are, you’ve heard me mention at least one of the following: 1) The OverDrive App 2) The book, ‘Generation Me’ by Jeanne Twenge.  (life-changer) 3) My dog, Cannoli. 4) Some sort of education philosophy (and by complete hate for the Montessori cult) 5) The latest thing I learned about alternative medicine including, but not limited to: milk thistle, biotin, ginger tea, yoga,…

Live Like Paul: A Year Later

This marks the one-year mark since Paul Coakley left this world for the next.. I never knew him directly; I’m sure we interacted a time or two because of all the mutual friends we had, but were never friends.  However, I think I speak for many of my fellow alumni when I say that he touched my life in a profound way. Looking back on what I wrote a year…

New Year Flashback

I can’t believe another year is in the books…  A year ago I said the same thing, and now it’s almost 2016…  Travel back a year with me.  I can’t believe how much has changed!! Happy New Year, blog babes! I spent the nice long break both at home in Ohio and then in Marco Island, Florida to ring in 2015.  It was beautiful and relaxing, and now I’m finally…

When I Lived In Europe: The Time Stephen Almost Killed Us

Sigh, these were the days, when I could just get bored and hop over to Salzburg for an afternoon or Prague for a quick overnight…  It’s funny reading back over these, because some of the most salient things I remember, I did not convey here at all…  Like, for example, how when we rented the van to go to Prague, we did not have a clue how to get there.…

The Year of Mercy

Here’s another Europe archive post from when I visited Poland, including Auchwitz to ring in the Year of Mercy (Oh yeah, I’m Catholic, by the way). It’s amazing to reflect back on those memories, which are still so salient in my mind, more than nine years later.   It’s really a bummer that I did not take any photos when I was over there.  I remember being nothing but painfully exhausted…

When I Lived in Europe: Italia

Italy remains one of my favorite places I’ve ever travelled to, and I’ve fortunately been back since I wrote this.  The smells, the culture, and the sights are second to none.  That “natural drug thing” I refer to is none other than melatonin (I was pretty sheltered at this point in my life). 10-day number two was amazing. I left with Kree, Alicia and Mallory on Thursday night from Gaming…

When I Lived In Europe: Parent’s Week

Ah, the quintessential “imaginary audience” of millennials.  I genuinely thought I was a bit of a celebrity with these posts.  You know, because everyone cares about my life abroad, and absolutely no one else has ever studied abroad in Europe?  **Blush** These were the days before the smell of cider make we wince, and I did car bombs in bars.   I’m sorry I suck at updating, …But life has…

It’s Christmas Season!!!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! OK, confession: I don’t love Thanksgiving like I know a lot of people do.  It’s cool, but I love Christmas, and I’m really happy that I can now fully dive in to the season.. Here are a few gatherings I threw last year.  Maybe a few will be happening again… I’ve had a few reasons for my blog hiatus..  Chief among them is that I find that your stereotypical…
