Two Great Breweries to Visit in Baltimore This Weekend

A few weekends ago, my pal, Catherine and I went brewery hunting. Even though wineries are my go-to, I often forget how much fun breweries can be. Now that I live on the Maryland side of D.C., Baltimore is super easy for me to get to, so I know this little venture is not a one-time thing. I visited Heavy Seas YEARS ago. It might have even been my first…

What’s Up Wednesday

I haven’t done one of these in a LONG time. I always love reading others’ WUW posts, so I thought I’d do one myself. Today’s link is hosted by Shaeffer and Shay, two bloggers I read on the reg. Enjoy! What I’m eating… Arbonne protein shakes. All day erry day. I can’t believe how much I enjoy them. It’s my morning (and sometimes afternoon) treat. Soooo much yum. They’re vegan,…

5 Etiquette Rules that Millennials Violate ALL The Time

One of many reasons why my grandmother and I bonded so much was because I am happily of a previous generation.  I often joke that I was born two generations too late, and, aside from the availability of air conditioning, sometimes wish I was.  If I’m being totally honest, despite being a millennial myself, really don’t like the millennial lifestyle. One common trait of millennials is that, whether we like…

Arbonne 30-Approved Chickpea-Crusted Chicken Fingers in the Air Fryer

If you follow me on Instagram stories, you know that I’ve been doing this detox program called 30 Days to Healthy Living with Arbonne , or, simply “Arbonne 30,” and it’s INTENSE. I cruised in to the first week without any issues. I was IN for it, and I was going strong. Then, it started to get hard. And then, I really wanted chicken fingers… Let me back up. In…

Why Having a Dog (or two) is Worth the Financial Sacrifice

Warning: I’m a self-proclaimed crazy dog lady. If you think dog people are weird, feel free to skip this post. I won’t mind one bit. I actually think a lot about how much more money I would have if I didn’t have dogs. I wouldn’t have to pay for someone to come walk them when I go to the office. I wouldn’t have to pay their vet bills or grooming…

How Credit Cards Can Ruin You (and how they can be a great resource)

Doomsday title? Yeah.. It is. Now, that being said, I am not a Dave Ramsey purest who thinks that all credit cards in every situation are evil. I think if someone is responsible, they can actually be quite good. But, if you’re the type who’s inclined to make minimum payments or have the, “oh, I’ll have the money at the end of the month” mentality, stay the hell away. A…

6 Things San Antonio

I’m not going to lie to you, I had no idea what to expect with San Antonio. I’ve been to Texas more times than I can count at this point, but the main reason I visit is to see my friends in Houston. It was only in the past year that I’ve branched out and visited Austin, and now San Antonio. While Houston has its charms in that there are…

5 Meatless Snacks for Lenten Fridays That Will Actually Keep You Full

I haven’t been super vocal on here about being Catholic on here, and I don’t necessarily want to start in on the “faith blogger” world, but I will be honest, it’s a huge part of my life. Most of my good friends I’ve met either because of my Catholic college, or my local faith community. That being said, it is Lent, which means we abstain from meat on Fridays. Technically,…

Five Breweries to Try Near D.C.

Last weekend was seriously one of the most fun and well-organized events I’ve ever been to, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation D.C. Brewer’s Ball. It was seriously a blast. There were 18 stations, and at each station were 2-3 breweries as well as a restaurant being represented. We got small beer glasses when we came in, so, in theory, pacing was encouraged by default. Granted, it didn’t always happen that way,…

Lent

For as weird as it sounds, I really look forward to Lent starting every year and this year is no exception. I often find myself feeling like I need a recharge, and Lent is a great time to do it. All major religions have a period of time of intentional fasting and spiritual recharge and, even if it is more en vogue to be Jewish or Muslim these days, if…
