These might look a bit familiar…  I love love love the Virginia wineries, and have been to several..  Allow me to share some of my recommendations on Wednesdays!

So, I became a bit of a wine-o since I’ve moved here. Who knew that some Virginia wines rival those of the Napa/Sonoma region? Some even better, in fact. Virginia Viogniers (a light dry wine) have been busting on to the scene, defeating French Viogniers for the past five years for World’s Best Wine.

Sooo, as a semi-wine blogger… Or a blogger who writes whatever she feels like… I took it upon myself to do a little wine tour of Virginia’s wine country. Well, I shouldn’t give this blog all the credit… One was a spur-of-the-moment trip with one of my besties last fall. The other was for my roommate’s bachelorette party, and the other was when my mom was in town.

And, I should note that none of these photos were taken by me. I will be featuring a new vineyard every week.

Rappahannock Cellars

Huntly, VA

A beautiful piece of land, nestled in the gorgeous Virginia countryside. Be sure to try New World Red, as well as their Meritage blend, my two favorites. If you go, pack a picnic and spend the day. Also, make sure to talk to one of the many Delmares (owners) about their family’s story of moving to California to Virginia.
