Spread the love

For as much as I would have LOVED to take credit for this idea, Shay over at Shull Family inspired me to host a recipe exchange, and now I’m hooked.  Unlike Shay, I was busy stuffing my face that I failed to take any more pictures than the ones seen below.  Anyway, here’s how it worked:

  1. I sent out the invites way ahead of time.. I actually really liked having it the weekend before Thanksgiving because few people were out of town AND people could use the recipes they learned at the party at both Thanksgiving and Christmas!
  2. Ask people to send you their recipe a week ahead of time so that you can have it all printed in a cute little book for when they arrive.
  3. Accept the fact that no one sent you their recipe in time to make the cute book, so send them a PDF of what you would have printed after the party.
  4. Everyone brings their food and sets it out.
  5. Everyone tries everyone’s contribution (placards describe what the food is)
  6. Everyone votes for their two favorites.
  7. Prizes awarded to the winners!  (which I, of course, forgot to get a picture of.  Shoot).

Anyway, this was a huge hit.

The competition was fierce, but here is the winning recipe and the runner-up:

Stuffed Mushrooms

Bacon-Wrapped Potato Bites with Spicy Sour Cream Dipping Sauce
