Recipe of the Week
I decided to try my hand at making the Greek salad from a few weeks ago in to a flatbread and it did not disappoint. Naan+Feta+Olive Oil Spray–bake at 350 until crispy. Remove from the oven and top with tomatoes, cukes, dill and salt. It’s delish and oh-so summery. Anyone else having to eat in front of the computer a lot these days? Busy times!
Currently Drinking
Not actually currently drinking (because it’s 10 PM on a work night and I have standards), but I’ve been jonesing over this beer I had in Rehoboth. I am even considering joining the Untappd app just so I can log it and remember it forever and ever. It’s SO good.
Currently Watching
I just finished Season 2 of Dead to Me and WHAT THE HELLLLLL. I should have known it would have ended on a cliff hanger and I hate that crap.
Currently Reading
I have not enjoyed a book this much in a long time. Maybe You Should Talk to Someone is raw, emotional, funny and beautifully-written. I have it on my Kindle Paperwhite (which I adore–more on this later) and can barely put it down.
Currently Listening
I took a little hiatus from my talk radio/podcast kick and am listening to Purple Hibiscus on audiobook. The central theme is a tension between a teenage daughter and her religious-fanatic father. Being a Catholic myself, I understand many of the lingo that is used but man, does this book paint Catholics in a not-so-great light.
This Week’s Adventures:
Jim and I have started making Wednesdays out little mid-week date night and it’s been so nice. Last week we ventured up 270 and went to Harpers Ferry Brewing Company for some beer and (insanely delicious) pizza. If you’ve never been, you’re seriously missing out. The views are some of the best in the area and it’s only like a 45 minute drive from MoCo.
Since I was apparently in a bit of a social butterfly mood, we also hit up Top Golf.
And, of course, we hit up Rehoboth for the weekend.
Current Hobbies:
I’m working on some Cricut projects that I can’t share here because they’re gifts :). I will share one thing that I haven’t cut yet but just might make in to a shirt for myself…
We’re also in a step challenge this week so walking is definitely a major hobby, even though it’s roughly 900 degrees outside and I abhor extreme heat. I’m not *quite* killing it at the step game, but I’m fine with my progress so far considering as it’s disgusting outside. So disgusting.
Last but not least, I am in major KonMari mode right now and am getting rid of all the things. I’m hoping to find some place that will do donation pickups (please Lawd please) so I don’t have to schlep 50+ books and a huge bag of clothes to Good Will.
One good thing that has come from this is that I’ve gotten to reconfigure my book shelf with some things that do spark joy–some Marys I’ve acquired from around the world.
Other Things To Note:
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have heard me alluding a bit to the second home debacle of July, 2020. Long story short, I was under contract and when I was able to close, the seller made a not-so-cool move and messed it up for me. It’s all fine now and I’m over it BUT I now have a new place under contract so send good vibes my way. I’m unfortunately not allowing myself to get excited about this because as I learned before, it’s not over until it’s over.
We saw these dog toys in Rehoboth and I think they’re freakin hilarious.
Ummmm, have you ever had these because they’re about as delicious as it gets.
The fugging strap on my black LV snapped back at the beginning of quarantine (long story) and I’m going to get it repaired (finally). Fun fact: LV’s customer service is so far, so good. I keep you updated when I get it back.
Soooo I bought a Peloton and am super excited about it! They do 0% financing so I’ll be paying significantly less then I did at OTF. I’ll write way more extensively about why this was a good financial/fitness decision for me later, but just wanted to share my fun news!
My Arbonne team is doing a little FYI sesh tonight and tomorrow night and I’d love for you to join! Seriously, if you have an online presence, it makes soooo much sense to join because it’s an easy way to make some extra $$$.
Last but certainly not least, we FINALLY went back to church for the first time since quarantine and it felt AMAZING being back. I’m a big routine person and I had no idea how much I missed the rhythm of being back with my church community. If you feel as though it’s safe for you to go, I would strongly encourage you to give it a try. As long as I’m still in tip-top health shape, I’ll be going weekly.
That’s all for now, friends! I hope your hump day is fun-filled and fabulous.
