I love January. Is that weird? I’ve been told that is it and I don’t care. I love the new beginnings, the freshness of all the new Christmas presents, the closet detoxes, cleaning after the decorations get boxed up and the motivation to start anew. I always make New Year’s Resolutions and almost always stick to them. I’m type-A like that. Here I’ll share my resolutions to perhaps inspire you to make your own. If you’re not the type to make resolutions, let this be a gentle nudge to give it a try. 2020 is going to be the best year yet so let’s make the most of it.
Exceed my sales goals by at least 10% every quarter
I work in sales/consulting and get assigned goals each quarter. This year I’m hoping to not only meet them but exceed them. I adore my day job and really want 2020 to be my year to blow things out of the water. It’ll take hard work, but I’m excited to do it.
Work out less frequently but average 10,000 steps.
Yes, you read correctly. It wasn’t until I did Faster Way to Fat Loss in November (more on this later but it’s seriously amazing) that I realized how much I was over-exercising. Yes, that’s a thing. I do get stressed out pretty easily, so it’s super tempting to work out sometimes seven days a week at Orangetheory Fitness (note- if you’ve never used exercise to alleviate anxiety, get on it.). If you know anything about OTF, you know it’s an hour of super intense cardio and strength. Seven times a week is way too much. In 2020, my routine will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Fortunately most of the places I travel have studios, so I should be able to almost always keep that schedule. As far as the steps go, I have a simple little Fitbit Flex and it gets the job done just fine and the motivation to get outside and walk, even when it’s cold outside is fantastic.
Blog on Tuesdays and Thursdays Every Week
I am putting this here in the hopes that I’ll keep up with it. I love blogging. It’s a great creative outlet for me and I really, really want to prioritize it in 2020. In fact, if I stick to it all year, I’m rewarding myself with a David Yurman ring for my birthday in December. In addition to consistency in posting, I’m hoping to attend the DC Blogger Union meetups are much as I can. I met some great girls when I went in the fall and want to make it more of a thing in 2020!
Start an Etsy Shop and make District Manager in Arbonne.
I repeat- I LOVE my day job. I’ve never been more excited to wake up on Monday mornings and see some of the most amazing colleagues I’ve ever had, working toward the same amazing mission. That being said, I also really value my side hustles and spend roughly 10 hours a week on them. I am not the type of person who sits still very well, so this year I want to be intentional about setting aside time to work a (very simple) Etsy shop and promote my lil’ Arbonne side hustle. In 2019, I barely dabbled in Arbonne and got all of my products for free and brought in around $200/month. The possibility that, if I do take it more seriously, I can actually make some serious dough is pretty exciting. Feel free to email me or comment here if you’re interested in learning more :).
As far as the Esty shop goes, you’ll have to wait and see what I have in store. It’ll be low-key at first, but who knows what it might morph in to?
In case you’re worried about me finding time, trust me, it’s there. It might mean a 6 AM workout rather than a 7 AM one, but I always find the time when I’m motivated to do so.
Join the DAR.
I’ve always known that I have an American Patriot in my family lineage, and now it’s looking like I might have at least four (!!!). In 2020, I want to make my membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution official and get involved in my local chapter.
Do a daily devotional.
I’ll admit it-my prayer life as of life as been abysmal. I’m ashamed to admit that this is the first thing to get squished out of my life when things get busy. I just ordered Jesus Calling , which comes highly recommended. I might be the last Christian woman to jump on this train, so bear with me, friends ;).
There you have it, friends. I usually have a hobby to add in every year with New Years Resolutions, but this year that’ll be wrapped up with the Etsy shop resolution. What are your resolutions for 2020? Ya know, they say that you’re more likely to stick with them if you tell someone, so put it out there publicly in the comments section below :).
I’ll see you all with a new post next year! Happy New Year!
